奥村靫正（おくむら・ゆきまさ）

アートディレクター、グラフィックデザイナー、画家
1947年12月4日、愛知県生まれ。1969年、桑沢デザイン研究所卒業。
1970年、WORKSHOP MU!! 設立に参加。はっぴいえんど、細野晴臣、大瀧詠一、サディスティック・ミカ・バンドなど、日本のロックミュージックの数々のレコードアルバムのデザインに携わる。
1977年、ザ・ステューディオ・トウキョウ・ジャパン（現TSTJ Inc.）設立。イエロー・マジック・オーケストラのアートディレクターとして、レコード、アルバム、ポスター、映像、ステージ、コマーシャルなどを手がける。以後も加藤和彦、山下達郎、佐野元春、ムーンライダーズ、チェッカーズ等のアートディレクションを担当。1982年からADC賞を4回受賞。キリン、サントリー、西友他多くの広告に携わる。1985年からは日本画の様式を取り入れたグラフィック作品を発表する一方、Macintoshを用いたデザインにもいち早く取り組んだ。2005年、女子美術大学芸術学部ヴィジュアルデザイン専攻教授に就任、2014年より客員教授。2023年、半世紀にわたるビジュアルワークを集大成した『奥村靫正作品集 Graphic Works of Yukimasa Okumura』（グラフィック社）を刊行。
東京アートディレクターズクラブ（1987〜2018年）、東京タイプディレクターズクラブ、JAGDA会員。

Yukimasa Okumura

Art Director, Graphic Designer, Painter
Born on December 4, 1947, in Aichi Prefecture, graduated from Kuwasawa Design School in 1969, and participated in the establishment of WORKSHOP MU! in 1970. Involved in designing many record albums of Japanese rock music such as HAPPY END, Haruomi Hosono, Eiichi Ohtaki, Sadistic Mika Band, etc. In 1977, established The Studio Tokyo Japan (TSTJ Inc.). As the art director of the Yellow Magic Orchestra, he worked on records, albums, posters, videos, stages, and commercials. Then, served art direction for Kazuhiko Kato, Tatsuro Yamashita, Motoharu Sano, Moonriders, Checkers, etc. Awarded the ADC Award four times since 1982. Involved in many advertisements for Kirin, Suntory, Seiyu, etc. Starting in 1985, he began producing graphic works that incorporated elements of traditional Japanese painting, while also being an early adopter of design using the Macintosh. In 2005, he was appointed professor in the Department of Visual Design at the Joshibi University of Art and Design, and has served as a visiting professor there since 2014. In 2023, he published "Graphic Works of Yukimasa Okumura" (Graphic-sha), a comprehensive collection of his visual work spanning half a century.
He is a member of the Tokyo Art Directors Club (1987–2018), the Tokyo Type Directors Club, and JAGDA.
