作品情報：
奥村靫正氏がデザインしたレコード・ジャケットのオリジナルを、シルクスクリーンで最新の作品として奥村氏が再構築した新作になります。
『テクノデリック』のオリジナル・ジャケット、ソ連のコルホーズの女性とインナーの機械のビジュアルを配置。マットなオレンジのインク面と美しい網点が魅力です。

奥村靫正・本人による作品解説：
この写真はソ連のコルホーズの女性のイメージを使った、ドイツ人のコラージュ作家が作ったパンフレットから引用しています。
当時の共産主義体制を象徴している非常に幸せそうな写真ですが、このようなものをたくさん持っていて、いつか使ってみたいと思っていました。
レコード・ジャケットはインナーを引き出すと機械のビジュアルが出てくる仕掛けになっていて、これはコルホーズの人たちの比喩として使っています。
ですので、今回は1920年代のロシアのプロパガンダとロボットを並列にすることで、制作動機をわかりやすく提示してみました。

奥村靫正・本人によるジャケットデザイン解説：
『テクノデリック』には２種類のジャケットがあります。
当初はコルホーズの女性の方のデザインで進めていたのですが、急遽レコード会社から「初回プレスだけはメンバーの顔が載っているものにしてほしい」という要望が入ってしまいまして。
そんな時間がない中でヘア・メイクさんと一緒にアルファのスタジオのロビーに行き、そこにあった電話や灰皿のスタンドなどを持たせて、私が直接YMOメンバー3人の顔にペインティングをして写真を撮りました。
ですのでレコード会社さんではなく、アーティスト側としては、こちらのコルホーズの女性のデザインが本来の意向のデザインになります。
ちなみに『テクノデリック』の書体は、このときすべて作りました。私が手で書いたものを写植にして、レコード・ジャケットやブックレットの歌詞まですべてこの書体を使いました。

Commentary by Yukimasa Okumura
This photo is taken from a pamphlet created by a German collage artist using an image of woman in Kolkhoz of the Soviet Union.
It looks very happy, symbolizing the communist system of the time, and I have many of such photos and have always wanted to use them someday.
The record jacket has a gimmick that when you pull out the inner lining, a visual of a machine comes out, and I use this as a metaphor for the people of Kolkhoz.
So this time, by putting the robot in parallel with the Russian propaganda of the 1920s, I tried to present the motive for the creation clearly.

Commentary on the jacket by Yukimasa Okumura
There are two types of jackets for "Technodelic."
Initially, I was working on a design based on a woman from Kolkhoz, but the record company suddenly requested that only the first pressing should have the members' faces on it.
In such a short time, I went to the lobby of Alpha's studio with a hair/make-up artist and had them hold a telephone and ashtray stand that were there, and I directly painted the members' faces and took pictures of them.
So, on the artists' side, not the record company's, the design of the woman in Kolkhoz here is the original intention.
By the way, I made all the typefaces for "Technodelic" at that time. I handwrote the typeface, transcribed it, and used it for everything from the record jacket to the lyrics in the booklet.
